Mathletics

BHS has signed up for Mathletics for years 3 - 6. Mathletics is an online practice and development sight that each teacher controls and subequently gets results at a click about their students. It also gives us entry to World Maths day later this year. Here are some clips.

Right Brain Maths

I found these 2 videos using right brain math to look at the patterns in times tables. I was amazed that the patterns just appeared before me as I watching. Watch them and see if you can use similar ideas in your classroom when teaching tables using a problem solving approach.

HI BHS!
This is the beginning of an on-line reference point for mathematics in our school. This link will have articles, resources and examples of the quality work happening in BHS.

The focus for this week is vocabulary. I know we all have an extensive knowledge of the teaching of mathematics but the lists on the right hand menu may come in useful for you. You will also find the National Standards pdf of the vocabulary linked below.
